Revolution is now hiring an experienced Manual Lathe Machinst in the Vernon, CA facility. This role will be responsible for manufacturing metal components and assembling them to construct tools, industrial machinery, and machine components.

  • Ability to do setups. 
  • Adjust machine controls and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
  • Replace worn tools, and sharpen dull cutting tools and dies using bench grinders or cutter-grinding machines. Birmingham, Alliant, Victor 2080 and other machines.
  • Inspect sample workpieces to verify conformance with specifications using instruments such as gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators
  • Position, secure, and align cutting tools in tool holders on machines using hand tools and verify their jobs with measuring instruments.
  • Crank machines through cycles, stopping to adjust tool positions and machine controls to ensure specified timing, clearances, and tolerances.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
  • Study blueprints, layouts, charts, and job orders for specifications and tooling instructions to determine material requirements and operational sequences.
  • Install holding fixtures, cams, gears, and stops to control stock and tool movement using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Compute unspecified dimensions and machine settings using metal properties and shop mathematics knowledge.


  • Experience:Five to seven (5 – 7) years of machine equipment experience on standard machine tools including a minimum of one to two (1 – 2) years programming, set-up, and operation of CNC machines. 
  • Experience in using conventional machines, lathes, and milling machines. Birmingham, Victor,  Alliant and others
  • Ability to use precision tools, calipers, and micrometers to take accurate measurements.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to understand, perform and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures.
  • Responsible for routine problem-solving and decision-making in facility maintenance and mechanical repairs.
  • Able to work with minimal direction and supervision, completing assigned tasks safely and timely.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with managers and employees.
  • Maintain a high commitment to quality, thoroughness, and efficiency in all work aspects and meet project deadlines/due dates.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel and bend for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50lbs.
