Revolution is now hiring for a Purchasing Specialist position in Shelbyville, TN. The purpose of the role is to maintain the proper inventory levels of MRO and production packaging materials through physical counts, system monitoring for inventory, reorder points, purchase order submissions, and system receiving practices. The successful candidate will be a motivated individual who has strong attention to detail. 

• Review all MRO purchase requests; create purchase orders per approval process; code purchases to correct GL account and department; monitor ETA for follow-up actions as needed; and track inventory of stock items. 
• Review reorder points in the ERP system for packaging materials and submit purchase orders.
• Adhere to established reorder points and communicate to stakeholders any inadequate inventory levels, non-usable/obsolete, slow-moving, or excess stock.
• Collaborate with the Project/Maintenance Manager and/or designated maintenance team member for assembling quote requests, soliciting competitive pricing, and submitting purchase requests. 
• Consult with Purchasing Manager MRO to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvement recommendations.
• Source new vendors for the best possible pricing, on-time delivery, and customer service. Gather new vendor documents and confirm compliance with company requirements for confidentiality, business conduct, and insurance requirements.  
• Ad Hoc responsibilities and cross-training to support other functions of the Supply Chain department.

• 4+ years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Associates degree preferred.
• Professional Certification (CPM, CPIM, CPP) is a plus.
• Net Suite and Syteline ERP experience is preferred. 
• Demonstrated competencies in the sourcing of materials and services. 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks by priority and to adjust priorities based on changing situations.
• Effective communicator: oral and written, with good interpersonal skills. 
• Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Self-starter: understand and anticipate what needs to be done and take required action. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and good judgment to make important recommendations to management.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Ability to support change through collaboration, brainstorming, asking questions, and thinking outside of the box.
• Willing to work in a customer-driven and safety-conscious organization.
